Online applications are invited upto 6 th April, 2015 for the following posts through for temporary posts for the project titled “Health systems preparedness for interventions for diabetes, hypertension, chronic respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases and cancers and deaths due to non communicable diseases among the tribal population in India.”

Name of the post Scientist B (Medical / Non-medical)

Place of posting Chennai, involves travel to several Indian states

 Essential Qualification Medical MBBS/BDS degree recognized by MCI. Non Medical 1st class Master’s degree in Public Health / Epidemiology/ Social Sciences/ Health sciences from a recognized university. 

Desirable Qualification Medical candidates  MD (PSM or CM) or DNB (SPM) or MPH or Masters in Epidemiology from a recognized university. Non medical candidates  PhD in Epidemiology, public health or health sciences. Common for all candidates  Research experience in field based health related projects.  Experience in data analysis using statistical software.  Knowledge of computer applications.  Ability to Read, Write & Speak in Hindi. 

Emoluments

 Medical: Consolidated salary of Rs.62,213/-(Inclusive of HRA) per month. 

Non-Medical: Consolidated salary of Rs.49,770/- (Inclusive of HRA) per month.

 Nature of Duties a) Supervise technical and administrative personnel in the project in the respective state. b) Provide expertise in the design and management of project activities. c) Field visits to rural areas in the respective state to ensure data quality control. c) Field visits to various primary health centers and government hospitals in the respective state. d) Analyze data using statistical softwares. c) Prepare progress reports and activity reports. e) Willingness to travel anywhere in India.

Project Assistant (Statistics) 

Place of posting NIE, Chennai

 Essential Qualification Three years graduate degree with Statistics (major or minor) with 1 year experience in health related research or health related field projects. Desirable Qualification  Masters in Statistics OR Public health OR Epidemiology.  

Experience in data analysis using statistical softwares.  Knowledge of computer applications. 

Emoluments 

Consolidated salary of Rs.27,945/- per month. 

Nature of Duties Assist in the project implementation activities, data management, data analysis of epidemiological data using statistical softwares and scientific report preparation, liasoning with project sites all over India.

 Data Entry Operator –A 

Place of posting NIE, Chennai 

Number of posts 1(OBC) 

Essential Qualification 12th Pass in Science Stream with Mathematics as a subject from recognized board. A speed test of not less than 15000 key depressions per hour through speed test on computer. 

Desirable Qualification Conversant with various computer programming including MS Word, Excel and simple statistical packages.

 Emoluments 

Consolidated salary of Rs.15,732/-per month. Nature of Duties Data entry of the study tools and administrative work related to the project.
